Hello! This is Regina writing in... I just had a 4 week Dr. visit today and I will be 25 weeks this Thursday, or just over 6 months along. Time is flying, which makes me nervous because there are 15 weeks to go (if not sooner!) and the first 2 trimesters seemed to go by so fast! I am also measuring at 28 weeks, so a little bigger than normal, but Brad and his siblings and I were all large babies so there is a good chance this baby will be at least 8.5lbs. Her heart rate today was 155 as compared to 170 at the 8 week ultrasound.
We did find out at our 20 week ultrasound that we are having.... *drum roll please* A GIRL! So congratulations all you who guessed girl and sorry we don't have prizes for you. At least "they", the medical professionals, say they are 95% sure, which are pretty good odds. She was facing my spine and actually had her legs crossed like a lady, so she MUST be a girl. I had been so sure I was having a boy this whole time that even when the Ultrasound Technician said it was a girl, I was still looking for the "jewels" that I knew were hiding and the Tech had missed somehow. Part of me still has doubts, but I'm more or less convinced. Besides, there are so many more cute clothes out there to choose from for girls! That is something that Brad fears (cha-ching) about me and baby clothes, but funny thing is, I have only picked out 1 clothing set for her and Brad was the first to pick out her outfits the day we found out she was a girl. He has since picked out several other cute items for her. I absolutely love how happy Brad is about becoming a father. He puts on a tough front about not spoiling his kids, but laughingly I have to say he is already wrapped around her little finger. He's going to be a great daddy with lots of love (and protection) to give her.
Also especially in the past month, I have been feeling this baby move a lot. As if alerting me to tell everyone she is here, she is rolling around now. In fact, Brad has been able to feel her move a lot too, and even see my abdomen "jump". It does not hurt yet, thankfully, but it is so fascinating to me that something is alive in me and moving. It kind of feels like muscles spasms that last a little longer than usual, and kind of a tickly roller-coaster flip flopping. God is truly amazing- this baby's brain, heart, skin, blood, eyes, etc. all form without any of my doing (except trying to eat healthy to help make her healthy)- it is like a miracle all the intricate little details and growths that occur and I am the vessel. It's always been an amazing event to me that I have thought about when people close to me have gotten pregnant and had babies, but being the pregnant person really does bring new understanding and awe to the table.
We do have pictures from our 20 week ultrasound, but since I do not know how to post them, Brad will have to do that part.
By the way, thanks for all the great names everyone has been suggesting! It's a lot of fun to read or hear them. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes too, that you have voiced and left on this blog. Love, Regina

So Happy First Mother's Day Reg!
I know you're going to be a wonderful Mommy to your little girl! I'm praying for you all.
Update please. It's been a while. :)Just a little anecdote- a friend of mine was told her baby was a girl, and found out on a subsequent ultrasound that baby was a boy, and she felt as you did that baby was a boy so strongly that she was shocked it was a girl until she found out she was right about the gender... so ya never know. Buy some white onesies. :)
